Hi there! My name is Ruben Govers and I’m a Performance Management Architect at element61, meaning I work together with our customers to improve their financial reporting and planning processes by implementing tools such as Vena Solutions and Prophix. 

My adventure at element61 began in July 2020, 9 months after graduating from the Catholic University of Leuven with a Master’s degree in Applied Economics. element61 is my second employer after a short time of being a Supply Chain Consultant at a different firm. It was a time marked by uncertainty during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these difficult times, I had a very welcoming onboarding experience, filled with training that boosted my knowledge in analytics and performance management and fun activities to get to know my new colleagues.

Already after a few weeks, I was able to join a big project at one of our customers. This was the perfect opportunity to put my recently acquired knowledge to the test. I was amazed by the support I got from my more senior colleagues. From the start, it was very clear to me that element61 embraces a collaborative culture where every member of the team is heard, valued, and able to contribute to the success of our customers.

Since then, I have been working on numerous projects for different customers, covering a wide range of industries. For example, I worked with Larian Studios, the world-famous Ghent-based game-developing company known primarily for their most recent and immensely popular videogame ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’. They were looking for a tool that allowed them to create budgets, forecasts, and HR plans for the upcoming years and across multiple projects and business units. After a thorough analysis, we were able to build a data model and process in Vena that fully met their needs.

The diversity of projects across industries has broadened my skill set, but it also allowed me to make a meaningful impact on real-world business challenges. Next to that, element61 has allowed me not only to increase my technical skills but also to learn a lot in other domains such as project management as well.
